I am a Principal Researcher at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of Materials, Environment and Energy, and a Professor in the Department of Inorganic, Analytical and Physical Chemistry in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I hold a PhD and a Diploma from the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. I served as head of the Department of Inorganic Analytical and Physical Chemistry from 2022 to 2024 and am currently president of the Argentine Society of Environmental Science and Technology
My research is primarily focused on photochemistry and photobiology, with particular interest in the roles of fluorescence and reflectance in living organisms. I have extensive experience in chlorophyll fluorescence and its relationship with photosynthesis.
A distinctive area of my work involves the study of scattering materials with high chromophore concentrations. In this field, I have developed several physical models to better understand how light interacts with such materials and to correct for artifacts and spectral distortions.
